2022 has been quite a different year in the hobby for me. Box prices are still ridiculously high despite the continued downward trend of low -end and mid-end card prices, and submissions to grading companies still don't make for a great flipping opportunities. As of the beginning of February I had purchased exactly 0 cards. Zero.
While waiting in the Santa Ana airport for a flight to come home from Disneyland I stumbled upon an oddly timed auction ending at 10 in the morning, a 2013 Select Von Miller Gold Prizm /10. I don't know what it is but the early years of Select and Prizm both have gold parallels that seem to pop much more than the current versions. Anyways, I saw the card and new that this would be my first purchase of 2022; minutes later I celebrating the eBay auction victory. Upon receiving the card prepping it for storing in my Zion Case (promo code Pack for 10% off), I noticed that I've developed a nice little collection. I've decided to share the top 6, listed below.
